The Trump administration has rescinded a rule that would have required international students at American schools offering classes exclusively online to either leave the country or transfer to a school offering in-person classes, according to a story from the Associated Press.

The change comes after eight federal lawsuits were filed on behalf of more than a dozen states and hundreds of universities. The policy change affects thousands of foreign students who had been at risk of being deported and hundreds of universities that were scrambling to reassess their plans for the fall.
