Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul announced that the Badger State will join 17 other states and the District of Columbia in a lawsuit to stop changes to student immigration visas, according to a story from the Associated Press.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released new guidance that requires student visa holders to enroll in at least one face-to-face course, transfer to another institution, or risk deportation.
In a statement from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Chancellor Rebecca Blank supports the effort and her staff has provided information to the UW System and the attorney general’s office. The university plans to offer a hybrid of in-person classes and online instruction in the fall.
