The Salvation Army of Dane County raised about $2,000 to support its programs thanks to Sunday’s inaugural Hope on the Pitch soccer tournament.

The organization is using a variety of new events to raise funding and awareness for the Salvation Army, like this year’s weightlifting event.

“We are thankful for the teams and sponsors for our inaugural Hope on the Pitch,” said Stephen Heck, executive director of philanthropy. “The money that we raised will help support our critical programs here in Dane County. We look forward to working with Forward Madison FC again next year and making it an even bigger event.”

The weightlifting event will return on March 21, 2026, and the soccer tournament should return next fall.
