1. What are the most challenging and rewarding aspects of your job and why?
The banking and lending industry is constantly evolving and introducing new technology to help simplify our daily world; however, building a one-on-one relationship is even more important today than it was in the past. While technology can make tasks like depositing a check faster and easier, technology cannot replace knowing and understanding relevant information on your background and goals, and how I can help with meeting those. As a trusted advisor, my goal is to help you simplify banking and reach your aspirations. That’s the rewarding part of my job.
2. Who do you look up to or admire in business and why?
Rather than just provide a name of a person who I admire, I would rather focus on characters that I admire. I am in awe of a creative thinker who leads innovations to make the world a better place, or an entrepreneur who is taking a leap to become their own boss with financial freedom. I admire people who see opportunities where others do not.
3. What has been the high point of your career so far?
My experience in banking ranges from consumer and mortgage lending to trust and estate planning, as well as having a solid knowledge in all types of accounts to assist clients. This experience brings me to the highpoint of my career today as the vice president of private banking at Park Bank. Here, I’m able to create strong relationships with clients and have the freedom to be innovative with new ideas and processes. It is extremely rewarding as a private banker when I can create efficiencies for a client, which frees up time to let them think about other more important things like their family and their future.
4. Thinking back on your career, what advice would you give your 21-year-old self?
I would have said, know you can do anything if you have the passion and put your mind to it.

5. What would you say are the best things about living and working in Dane County?
I’m from northern Wisconsin, so when I moved to Madison in 2003 I was nervous I’d miss out on outdoor recreational activities. The reality is there are so many places within Madison and Dane County to hike, kayak, bike, camp, and enjoy the outdoors. Plus, having the Badgers within a 15-minute drive is a great perk! Go Bucky!
6. Do you have any secret talents or abilities that people would be surprised to discover?
Most people would be surprised to learn that I curl at the Madison Curling Club in McFarland. I picked up the sport four years ago and love everything about it. It’s a combination of bowling and shuffleboard with the meticulous technique needed in golf. That is why it’s frequently referred to as chess on ice!
7. What are your guilty pleasures?
I’m a techie! I’m always looking for the newest technologies, whether it’s something fun for a day or to make life easier. It’s incredible how many new inventions or ideas to improve everyday life are being thought of every day!
