Name the most challenging and rewarding aspects of your job.
One of the most meaningful parts of my work is earning people’s trust — especially as someone who came to the U.S. from Bulgaria 25 years ago. In my profession, competition is fierce, and trust is the true currency. The rewarding part is that when trust is earned, it transforms relationships into partnerships… (and it) reminds me why genuine connection and authenticity are the strongest foundations in business.
Who do you look up to or admire in business and why?
I deeply admire Indra Nooyi, the former CEO of PepsiCo. Her leadership philosophy centered around empathy, purpose and long-term vision — qualities that resonate with me as both a professional and an immigrant woman in finance. Like Nooyi, I believe success comes from blending strategy with heart, and from leading in a way that empowers others to reach their full potential.
What has been the high point of your career so far?
Building a practice based on trust and relationships rather than transactions. Earning clients’ confidence, particularly in a highly competitive industry, has been both humbling and empowering.
What advice would you give your 21-year-old self?
(Don’t) underestimate the power of perseverance and authenticity and (don’t) be afraid of taking risks. Moving with my husband to the U.S. was the biggest risk of our lives, but it also became the foundation of everything we’ve built together. Stay true to your values, be curious and genuinely care about people — success will follow.
Do you have any secret talents or abilities?
People are often surprised to learn that I’m fluent in Bulgarian and that I use that cultural lens to connect with clients from all walks of life. I also have a strong creative side — I love organizing client events, planning celebrations and decorating for any occasion.
What are your guilty pleasures?
Taking long walks with my husband, who has an incredible way of grounding me. Those walks are my favorite way to reset and reconnect. I’m also a night owl — I love the quiet stillness of late nights when everyone is asleep. It’s my time to unwind, reflect and mentally set my agenda for the next day.
