The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) joined Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) in urging state and local authorities not to release the names of small businesses with reported COVID-19 cases, according to a statement from the organization.
NFIB is concerned about the financial damage this could cause thousands of struggling small business owners in Wisconsin and states releasing names could “expose Wisconsin small businesses to even more potential harm.” WMC sent a similar letter to Gov. Tony Evers and Department of Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm.Â
