Local developer Jeff Grundahl’s plans to build a three-story building with apartments and commercial space was shot down 4-3 by the Mount Horeb Village Board on Wednesday, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
The board said it did not meet several criteria including preserving open space, avoiding causing traffic issues and more.
The plan would have redeveloped land with a pair of houses on Mount Horeb’s historic Main Street.
The development faced strong opposition from neighbors, with an original plan proposing four stories.
