The companies, people and issues shaping business in Madison and the Capital Region.

1. What are the most challenging and rewarding aspects of your job and why?

The most challenging aspect of my job is letting go of the reigns and letting the business run without me. The most rewarding part of my job is when we transform a dog from having undesirable behaviors to being a more well rounded part of the family.

2. Who do you look up to or admire in business and why?

I look up to Tony Robbins. He is a great motivational speaker, and positive example for millions of people. He has helped me a lot to grow into the person that I am today. I know that I still have a long way to go, but I am much further in my life than I would be without him.

3. What has been the high point of your career so far?

The high point of my career has been this past year. We are doubling our training space and have increased the number of trainers. This would not have been possible without my amazing staff.

4. Thinking back on your career, what advice would you give your 21-year-old self?

I would advise myself to keep reading. Read everything you can get your hands on and try to learn something new every day. Never give up no matter how hard it may seem, and you must want success more than you want to breathe.

5. What would you say are the best things about living and working in Dane County?

Living and working in Dane County has been a lot of fun. I love giving back to my community and we have many opportunities to do so in Dane County. We also have so many active things to do here. My favorite activity is mountain biking along the trails. Just being able to be one with nature, and a little adrenaline rush to top it off.

6. Do you have any secret talents or abilities that people would be surprised to discover?

I love to cook. Creating an amazing dish from nothing is something I truly enjoy. I enjoy creating good tasting food and sharing it with friends and family. Recently, I took up smoking meat and have learned that it is its own art!

7. What are your guilty pleasures?

I love to travel and explore new places. My favorite place to date is when I went to Belize. I love getting to experience the culture when I travel. It’s a lot more fun than just doing what most tourists do. I like eating what the locals eat and doing what they do. In the near future I will be going to Cuba and I am really excited about it!
