What have you accomplished in your professional life/career since your 40 Under 40 selection?
Since being in the 40 Under 40 class of 2007, I have had the good fortune of growing my team by an additional four people and have seen my business quadruple in production with us now managing over $740 million for our clients. I continue to be very thankful for the clients I have the pleasure working with and it is truly my honor to help people plan their financial futures.
What accomplishments, milestones, or endeavors have you attained in your personal life since your 40 Under 40 selection?
Since 2007, I have gotten married and am blessed to have two children come into our lives. They are now thriving in elementary school as a kindergartner and third grader. We continue to have a great time traveling as a family and living in Middleton.
If you were to “do it all over again,” what (if anything) would you do differently throughout your career?
I look back at the growth in my career and really have no regrets. My business has grown dramatically and I am very lucky to have the team I have. As I think about the past, I have only grown to where I am today because of my team, so if I were to do something different I would have hired more positions earlier.
How did your 40 Under 40 selection help your career?
It’s always an honor to be recognized by your community and as I have built my resume of experience, honors like the 40 Under 40 selection along with other achievements and attained goals help to continue to propel my career to new heights.
What is something that you have a new passion for since the time of your induction — either professionally or personally?
With the birth of my two kids, many of my new passions and interests are around their life and helping them grow spiritually, academically, socially, and athletically. I love to coach my kids in basketball and all other aspects of life, and I am just really excited to see what they become passionate about in their lives.
Based on your experience, do you have any advice for today’s young professionals (under 40)?
Continue to work hard and know that success is not always a straight line up. There are peaks and valleys that you will go through and it’s the valleys where you can truly grow as a person in life and business and push on to success you never dreamed of.
