Evjue Foundation gives $2.4M in grants to support area nonprofits

The Capital Times’ charitable arm, the Evjue Foundation, announced Wednesday that its board approved nearly $2.4 million in grants.

The grants will support area nonprofits and educational institutions, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County. That organization will receive $100,000 to honor CEO Michael Johnson who died suddenly in June.

Other organizations set to receive money include the University of Wisconsin-Madison, awarded $322,500 for 36 projects; Madison LakeWay Partners, which is spearheading a redesigned Lake Monona shoreline; Sun Prairie food pantry Sunshine Place, the newly opened Center for Black Excellence and Culture and many more.
