The city of Madison is planning to redevelop roughly 340 dated and deteriorating housing units for low-income, elderly, and disabled residents on a property known as “the Triangle” in downtown Madison, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. Madison’s Community Development Authority is issuing a “Request for Qualifications” for a development partner to engage residents, analyze funding opportunities, and develop a vision for the 26-acre property bounded by South Park Street, Regent Street, and West Washington Avenue. The project may involve renovation and/or demolition, and new construction. The property currently holds housing units at five sites, a small Asian grocery store, and a community center owned by the nonprofit Bayview Foundation.
