Business groups applaud legislation limiting COVID-19 liability

Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) commended the state Assembly and Senate for passing Special Session Senate Bill 1, which contains language providing COVID-19 liability protections for businesses, universities, schools, nonprofits, and other organizations. The National Federation of Independent Business applauded the Legislature for passing the reform and urged Gov. Tony Evers to sign the bill. The bill aims to protect business owners that are taking precautions to keep their customers and employees safe from frivolous lawsuits.
