Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, the combined state chamber, manufacturers’ association, and safety council, applauded the state Assembly for passing critical COVID-19 liability protections last week, according to a statement from the organization.
The protections included in Assembly Bill 1 protect organizations including businesses, schools, universities, nonprofits, and others from costly litigation regarding liability to minimize the spread of COVID-19. The bill, which must pass the state Senate and be signed by Gov. Tony Evers to become law, would not protect entities that participated in reckless or wanton conduct or intentional misconduct.
