After an experimental treatment failed to keep PFAS compounds from spreading at the Madison airport, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has ordered a new plan, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal. The failed initiative with “bioavailable absorbent media” did not keep stormwater with concentrations of PFAS from spilling into Madison’s lakes and streams. The DNR ordered Madison and Dane County to come up with a new plan by April 16 to keep PFAS from leaving the property.
