Youth Apprenticeship Nights 2025 kicking off this month

Beginning on Jan. 21 and March 3 at 6:30 p.m., the Dane County School Consortium, in partnership with the 16 Dane County School Consortium Districts, will host Youth Apprenticeship Nights 2025 online via Microsoft Teams. Families and students across Dane County in ninth and 10th grades may attend this free event. It will also be live, in person at Robert M. LaFollette High School, 702 Pflaum Road, Madison, on Feb. 12 from 6:30–8 p.m.

These events will feature a talk and explanation of the Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship Program from Director Josh Fassl in addition to coordinator-led breakout rooms representing different career opportunities within the Youth Apprenticeship Pathways.

Families will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the following career areas:

  • Agriculture, food, and natural resources;

  • Education and training;

  • Architecture and construction;

  • IT;

  • Hospitality and tourism;

  • Human services;

  • STEM;

  • Government and public administration;

  • Manufacturing;

  • Transportation, distribution, and logistics;

  • Law, public safety, corrections, and security;

  • Finance;

  • Marketing; and 

  • Health sciences.

Youth Apprenticeship information nights introduce youth to a variety of career options and help the students understand what courses in high school and volunteer opportunities they should participate in to best prepare themselves for their desired career field and the Youth Apprenticeship program.
