The Business Forum has announced the 12 nominees for the ATHENA Young Professional Award, recognizing emerging leaders between the ages of 25 and 40. According to the organization, nominees must demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession, provide valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and assist women in reaching their full leadership potential. This year’s nominees are: 

  • Theresa Balsiger, Carex Consulting Group Inc.;
  • Dominique Christian, AYA Consulting Firm;
  • Katy Chryst, Katy Chryst LLC.;
  • Virginia Gittens-Escudero, UNIDOS;
  • Dawn Mullarney, SMART Solutions;
  • Jamie Perez, Beyond Words Productions;
  • Melinda Pogwizd, Kahler Slater;
  • Julia Pooler, Girl Scouts of Wisconsin – Badgerland;
  • Tayler Spannknebel, Girl Scouts of Wisconsin – Badgerland;
  • Amber Swenor, Soul Seed Strategy;
  • Miranda Weber, MGE; and
  • Marissa Young, JP Cullen.

The winner will be announced at the ATHENA Young Professional Celebration Luncheon, held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, at The Madison Club. Tickets are available online.
