The Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras (WYSO) is planning a $25 million, 40,000-square-foot music center on the 1100 block of East Washington Avenue, the former location of the Avenue Club and Bubble Up Bar, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The WYSO Center for Music will be located in the block adjacent to the Madison Youth Arts Center and will include rehearsal space for 500 young musicians ages 5–18. The project is partially funded through a gift from philanthropists Pleasant Rowland and Jerry Frautschi, who have pledged $18 million. The center is expected to open by spring or fall 2023.
