A new cookbook by Wisconsin food writer Terese Allen centers on the Dane County Farmers’ Market’s community of farmers, cheesemakers, bakers, shoppers, and chefs.

Allen is touring eastern and southern Wisconsin this spring, presenting The Dane County Farmers’ Market Cookbook: Local Foods, Global Flavors, a 258-page cookbook that includes Wisconsin recipes, global dishes, and culinary mash-ups.

Upcoming cookbook events in Madison include:

  • An author signing with Allen at the outdoor Dane County Farmers’ Market at the top of State State on the Capitol Square on Saturday, May 4, and Saturday, June 1, from 8:30–10:30 a.m.; and

  • A Historic Madison Inc. presentation of “Madison’s Iconic Food Cultures” with speakers Terese Allen, Marie-Arzel Young, and Richard Daluge of the UW–Madison College of Agriculture, held Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at the Warner Park Community Center.

The Dane County Farmers’ Market Cookbook is published by Little Creek Press in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. All profits from the sale of the cookbook benefit the Dane County Farmers’ Market.
