Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance Corp. (WPS) announced on Friday that it is reducing resources across the corporation’s Monona and Madison locations, a move that will include reducing its workforce. The company said the decision comes in response to “competitive pressures.”
The expected date of the first separation is Sept. 30. WPS expects that 51 employees will be affected and that the action will be permanent.
WPS laid off 313 employees last fall at the same two locations — 303 of them at Monona.
