The WPS Charitable Foundation on Sept. 22 presented a $5,000 check to the Wayne D. Horner Memorial Stand Down Madison, according to a recent press release. Stand Down Madison is a local organization that provides relief to veterans experiencing homelessness.
Vice President of Communications DeAnne Boegli and Charitable Foundation Program Administrator Amy Callender awarded the check to Angie Nickels, president of Stand Down Madison, and other Stand Down Madison representatives.
The Stand Down Madison fundraising main event is Oct. 21, and the organization still needs about 100 volunteers for the event. Vendors can register online, and volunteers can sign up to help.
