As part of a larger plan to reorganize its business, Worzalla Publishing of Stevens Point has laid off 20 employees, mostly supervisors and managers, according to a report in the Stevens Point Journal. Eliminating the positions will save an estimated $1.5 million in 2012 expenses. CEO Jim Fetherston cited a changing competitive print landscape that includes e-readers like Amazon’s Kindle and Apple’s iPad, which have reduced the number of books in print. The company’s workforce now stands at about 280 positions.
