Wisconsin’s Joint Finance Committee (JFC) has reportedly approved a settlement between Crushin’ It Apparel and the state Department of Justice (DOJ) that will ensure workers at Crushin’ It are paid their owed wages.

According to Madison-based Worker Justice Wisconsin, a group of Crushin’ It employees approached the social services organization in 2022 and reported wage theft and other workplace issues. The employees subsequently filed wage theft cases with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD).

The DWD determined over one year ago that Crushin’ It Apparel owed its workers over $8,000 in back wages, but Worker Justice Wisconsin claims that employer Jeremy Kruk refused to pay them.

The Wisconsin DOJ in April filed a lawsuit against Kruk on behalf of the DWD, and it recently reached a settlement wherein Kurt will pay the workers their back wages with interest. On Dec. 10, the JFC approved the settlement, giving Kruk 20 days to pay.
