A roughly 60-foot fall killed a 25-year-old construction worker Monday morning at a downtown Madison construction site.
Chris Lord of Dane was working as a framer at the site for the project’s general contractor, McGann Construction. Authorities still aren’t sure what led to the fall.
The project at N. Webster and E. Mifflin Streets is the future home of the Capitol’s Edge Apartments, from developer Fred Rouse of Rouse Management, set to open in January.
This is the second construction worker to die on a work site fall in Madison this year. In February, 58-year-old John P. Stroll of Fitchburg, died at a construction site off John Nolen Drive after a wall collapsed and trapped him.
