Woodward resigns as Meriter-UnityPoint Health CEO

Meriter-UnityPoint Health CEO and President Jim Woodward will step down at the end of June to take over as CEO of Elliot Health System in Manchester, N.H., Meriter announced today. Meriter has yet to name a successor, but the company said transition and succession plans are currently being implemented. Woodward has led the company since 2006. Earlier this year, Meriter Health Services affiliated with West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health.

“I am honored to have had the opportunity to be part of the Meriter family for nearly eight years,” said Woodward in a release. “There’s no doubt that Meriter, and health care systems throughout the country, is experiencing a lot of change, but I’m resolute in our decision to affiliate with a strong and vibrant partner like UnityPoint Health.”
