According to Channel3000, an anonymous donor contributed $1 million in funding for the upcoming Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center in Janesville.

The Friends of the Woodman’s Center group said the gift would help pay for locker rooms for Janesville and Milton high schools at the Mercyhealth Arena, the main event space in the facility.

Earlier this year, the organization set a goal of $7 million to make the project a reality; to date, it has brought in over $9 million. The 130,000-square-foot facility is set to open next year and will be located at the site of the former Sears store at Uptown Janesville.
