Women in Focus Inc. will host its 38th annual “I Have a Dream” scholarship banquet and ball at the Wisconsin Masonic Center on Jan. 13 from 6–11 p.m., according to Madison365. The organization promotes educational excellence and the health development of the Madison area’s children of color by providing scholarships.
The yearly event honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and raises money for the scholarship fund. Over $500,000 in total scholarships has been awarded to 423 college-bound students of color in Dane County so far. Each April, Women In Focus Inc. presents the scholarships at an annual reception at the Goodman Community Center.
The event will include a silent auction, a photo booth and professional photographer, a variety of food options, and dancing. Tickets are available here.
