Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) and Johnson Financial Group announced in a recent press release the top four products moving on in the eighth annual Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest. The four products each won two head-to-head matchups in a bracket-style tournament known as Manufacturing Madness.

Over 1 million votes have been cast in the competition over the last eight years. The event highlights Wisconsin’s manufacturing industry, which contributes roughly $70 billion to the state’s economy each year.

This year, over 100 products were nominated for the competition. Following a popular vote round and the Manufacturing Madness bracket-style rounds, Wisconsinites have narrowed the field down to the top four.

The 2023 Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin finalists include:

  • Bevi Bottleless Water Dispenser (No. 1 seed, Plexus Corp. of Neenah);
  • Applewood Smoked Bacon (No. 2 seed, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats of Wittenberg);
  • Ariens 90th Anniversary Limited Edition Sno-Thro (No. 3 seed, AriensCo of Brillion); and
  • American Heritage 6” Tobacco Safety Toe Work Boot (No. 12 seed, Thorogood of Merrill).

The final round of voting to determine the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin begins on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 8 a.m. Individuals can vote once per day, per device until 12 p.m. on Oct. 19. The winner will be crowned at WMC’s Business Day in Madison that same day.
