Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) — the combined state chamber and manufacturers’ association — on Tuesday announced the promotion of Evan Umpir. In addition to his role as director of tax, transportation, and legal affairs, Umpir will also serve as the organization’s general counsel.
Prior to joining WMC, Umpir worked for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on transportation security issues and policy. Additionally, he spent time as a staffer in the Wisconsin State Legislature and Congress.
He earned his law degree from the UW Law School and has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Marquette University.
