WMC, Johnson Financial Group announce top 16 for Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin

Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC) and Johnson Financial Group announced in a press release Wednesday the top 16 products moving on in the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest. Nearly 60,000 votes were cast for over 100 products during the contest’s popular vote round. The top 16 Wisconsin-made products are moving on to Manufacturing Madness — a head-to-head bracket-style tournament.

Over its eight years, the contest has garnered more than 1 million votes, highlighting the career opportunities and economic impact of the state’s manufacturing industry.

The Top 16 Coolest Things Made in Wisconsin include:

  • Bevi Bottleless Water Dispensers (No. 1 seed, Plexus Corp. of Appleton);
  • Applewood Smoked Bacon (No. 2 seed, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats of Wittenberg);
  • Ariens 90th Anniversary Limited Edition Sno-Thro (No. 3 seed, AriensCo. of Brillion);
  • Data Server (No. 4 seed, Foxconn Industrial Internet of Mount Pleasant);
  • Bolt Safety Helmet (USA) Type 2 (No. 5 seed, Milwaukee Tool of Mukwonago);
  • Jolly Good Soda (No. 6 seed, Krier Foods of Random Lake);
  • Mighty Hoop (No. 7 seed, Midwest Products of Germantown);
  • Gator XUV 835R Signature Edition (No. 8 seed, John Deere Horicon Works of Horicon);
  • Troy Indy Special (No. 9 seed, 7fifteen Motorworks of Three Lakes);
  • String Cheese (No. 10 seed, Cedar Valley of Belgium);
  • Dry Van Trailer (No. 11 seed, Stoughton Trailers of Stoughton);
  • American Heritage Tobacco Safety Toe Work Boot (No. 12 seed, Thorogood of Merrill);

  • Ammunition and Brass Casings (No. 15 seed, AMMO Inc. of Manitowoc); and
  • LaserEdge Lawn Mower Blade (No. 16 seed, Fisher Barton of Watertown).

The first round of Manufacturing Madness will consist of eight head-to-head matchups that will determine the Top 8 Coolest Things Made in Wisconsin. Voting begins on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8 a.m. and will conclude at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3. Manufacturers, consumers, and the public are invited to vote online daily in each of the matchups.
