WISTAX announces merger, Berry to retire

The Wisconsin Taxpayer’s Alliance will merge with Milwaukee-based Public Policy Forum.

According to a release, the move will increase staff capacity, broaden research capabilities, and allow the combined organization to better engage and inform policymakers, citizens, taxpayers, the media, and others.

The merger brings together 11 full-time staff in both Madison and Milwaukee.

WISTAX President Todd Berry will retire after the transaction is finalized. Rob Henken, president of the Public Policy Forum, will serve as the new organization’s president, and WISTAX Research Director Dale Knapp will remain as research director.

Legal work should be completed by the end of the year, and a new organization name will likely be announced in 2018.
