WisconsinEye Public Affairs Network, a nonprofit organization that broadcasts state capitol events, announced it will end event coverage and take its video archive of over 30,000 hours offline on Dec. 15 due to a lack of funding.

WisconsinEye describes itself as the “nation’s first and only independent State Capitol broadcast organization, operating much like C-SPAN at the national level.”

The nonprofit requires private funding to operate, and said on its main page, “programming will resume for one year when adequate funds are contributed to cover the network’s 2026 operational budget of $887,000.”

WisconsinEye first broadcast in May 2007.
