The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss improvements on Interstate 39 from Lien Road to U.S. 51 in Madison. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 29 from 5:30–7 p.m. at Southwest Region Office (Dane, Rock, and Columbia conference rooms), located at 2101 Wright St.
The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements. The project will maintain connectivity along I-39 by addressing the existing roadway pavement condition. WisDOT is proposing to resurface 5.5 miles of I-39 as well as replace beam guard and improve pavement markings and ramps along the project corridor. Construction is scheduled for 2026 and will be constructed using temporary nighttime lane closures.
