Wisconsin unions, which have sufficient membership to decide the upcoming presidential election, are largely endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, with no major state union endorsing former President Donald Trump, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. However, recent polls suggest Democrats have lost substantial ground among rank-and-file union workers.
A 2012 Marquette University Law School Poll saw 65% of union members report alignment with the Democratic Party, 28% with the Republican Party, and 6% as independents. In contrast, this year, 46% of union members identified as Democrats, with 42% aligned with the GOP and 12% identifying as independents.
Wisconsin has roughly 200,000 union workers, and membership is as diverse as the state and country as a whole.
