The 61st annual Ski and Snowboard Resale at Union South’s Varsity Hall will take place on Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is organized by the Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club, a nonprofit that provides instruction in skiing and snowboarding.

It’s an opportunity for people to buy and sell discounted gear for all ages, including downhill skis, snowboards, boots, coats and more.

“Resale is one of the biggest ski swaps in the Midwest, offering an opportunity for the community to get a chance to try new winter sports or to even find budget-friendly gear,” Kaya Ujikawa, Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club vice president of resale, said in a statement. “It also gives the public an opportunity to sell their own gear, helping others gear up for the upcoming winter season.”

Sellers are able to bring up to 10 items to Union South at 1308 West Dayton St. on Dec. 4 between 5 to 8 p.m. or Dec. 5 from noon to 8 p.m.

The Hoofer Alpine and Nordic teams will also offer waxing and tuning of Alpine skis, Nordic skis and snowboards for $15 to $40.

Resale purchases support the Hoofer club’s Alpine, Nordic and freestyle teams.
