Wisconsin workers 15% less likely to quit their jobs than those in other states

New data from AI productivity platform Plus Docs reveals the states with the most and least workers on the brink of resignation, ranking Wisconsin the 10th happiest state for workers in the U.S.

Researchers examined Google Keyword Planner data for a list of resignation-related key terms, including “I want to leave my job” and “signs you should quit your job.” Those with the highest average monthly search volume per 100,000 people were ranked the top states contemplating a career change.

In Wisconsin, workers are 15% less likely to quit their positions when compared to other states in the U.S. The average monthly search volume was just 136 monthly resignation-related keyword searches per 100,000 people.

Hawaii is the state with the most unhappy workers. According to the study, employees there are searching for resignation-related keywords 288 times each month per 100,000 people, 79% above the nationwide average.

Alternatively, Kentucky and Utah have the happiest workers in the U.S. With 108 average monthly searches per 100,000 people for resignation-related key terms, employees in these states are 49% less likely to change careers in 2024.
