The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development released January employment numbers Thursday, and unemployment has risen to 3.3% from 3.2%.
About 3,017,400 people were employed in Wisconsin during January, up 800 over the previous month but down 18,600 over the year.
Wisconsin’s labor force participation rate increased to 64.3%, above the national rate of 62.5%.
Nonfarm jobs also increased 8,000 from December to January to land at 3,032,500.
And the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 3.3%, which is still below the national rate of 4.3%.
