Wisconsin will receive almost $30 million in federal disaster relief that will be distributed among victims of devastating August storms and flooding, Wisconsin Public Radio reports.

In a social media post Thursday, President Donald Trump announced his approval of the state’s request to help Milwaukee and the other areas most affected with a total of $29.8 million.

The approval follows a survey of the damage by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. State and federal officials found the floods caused more than $33 million in damages to private property in Milwaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties.
