The Wisconsin Public Service Commission’s State Broadband Office and the Department of Public Instruction have launched a smartphone-accessible “emergency internet” tool to help people find free broadband service during the COVID-19 crisis, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.
Developed to provide wider internet access, the tool identifies nearly 450 open Wi-Fi connections, many of which are located in facilities that are currently closed.
