The Great American Outdoors Act that was recently signed into law could bring big investments to Wisconsin public outdoor spaces, according to a report from Spectrum News 1.
The legislation commits the federal government to spend $3 billion each year on conservation, national parks, and other maintenance of public lands. Some of that funding will go toward the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which over the past 50 years has sent more than $200 million to support Wisconsin sites including the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.
