Gov. Tony Evers on Monday announced a new lawsuit Wisconsin is joining against the Trump administration and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for cuts that will effectively dismantle the federal agency responsible for helping keep Wisconsinites and Americans healthy and safe.

The new filing condemns the Trump administration for HHS cuts and gutting investments and programs already approved by the U.S. Congress, despite having no authority to do so. The suit says the moves represent a direct assault on constitutional checks and balances.
