The good news is … this isn’t Wyoming, but of average monthly premiums for a mid-range, benchmark health insurance plan purchased through a federal exchange under the Affordable Care Act, Wisconsin premiums are expected to be ranked 14th highest among 47 states and the District of Columbia. Government subsidies, available to some residents based on age, income, and location, could offer significant relief. Indiana residents are expected to pay the most among Midwestern states, averaging $403 per month, while Wisconsin residents could pay an estimated $361, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Wyoming residents could pay the most, an average of $516, while Minnesota residents could pay the least, at $192. Actual amounts will vary widely, depending on individual circumstances.
