A report in today’s Milwaukee Business Journal says Wisconsin has made it into the top two states being considered for a new Foxconn plant.
Foxconn is a Taiwanese company that employs nearly 1 million people and assembles smartphones and other electronic devices for companies like Apple, Blackberry, and Sony.
Foxconn purchased Japan’s Sharp Corp. last year and is looking to build a U.S. plant for the production of Sharp large-screen TV panels.
The Milwaukee Business Journal says the company is looking to spend $4 billion on a plant that could employ as many as 5,000 workers. Racine and Kenosha are being considered, according to reports.
