Wisconsin Democrats late last week brought forward a series of legislative proposals intended to “help uplift working families and seniors” by reducing housing, food, and prescription drug costs, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.

One measure would aim to cut down grocery costs by establishing a permanent school lunch reimbursement program through the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. Another provision would expand the homestead income tax credit, which is available to low-income homeowners and renters. A bill lowering prescription drug costs would implement several recommendations made by a task force created by Gov. Tony Evers in 2019.

Additional components of the proposal are available here.
