With the flu arriving harshly this season, some Wisconsin counties have stocked vending machines with free flu tests.
Wisconsin Public Radio reports that places like Kenosha County Public Health began stocking vending machines with COVID-19 and flu tests this month.
Most tests are in harm reduction vending machines that offer Narcan, a drug that can save lives during opioid overdoses, and fentanyl test strips.
Flu tests have been added to some of these machines, as well as winter supplies.
Funding for the machines comes from an opioid legal settlement. Wisconsin has $780 million in total funding through 2038 from the settlement.
