Wisconsin chocolatiers struggle with high cost of cocoa

Global cocoa supply chain disruptions and tariffs are combining to place cocoa prices at “unprecedented heights,” Wisconsin Public Radio reports.

Commodity trading prices are up, and demand is high, although regions growing cocoa have faced tough seasons due to drought and flooding.

Many chocolate producers said they pay about $500 extra for a pallet of chocolate right now, and shoppers will notice higher chocolate prices in stores.
