Racine’s Rogan’s Shoes has been sold to national footwear retailer Shoe Carnival, according to Wisconsin Public Radio. The latter announced Tuesday that it acquired Rogan’s for $45 million.

Shoe Carnival projects the sale will generate $84 million in sales and $10 million in operating income. The company said the move is part of a strategy to become the nation’s leading family footwear retailer, targeting operation of over 500 stores by 2028.

Rogan’s, with 28 stores across Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois, was founded in 1971 and has over 600 employees.
