Wisconsin banks increase earnings

For the first nine months of the year, Wisconsin’s state-chartered banks increased earnings by 28%, according to the Wisconsin Dept. of Financial Institutions (DFI). Through Sept. 30, collective earnings grew to $289.3 million, according to the FDIC.

More than 92% of banks were profitable, and two-thirds showed earnings gains over the previous year, according to a DFI release.
