- Every state had unemployment claims last week that were lower than in the previous week except for Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Illinois, North Carolina, California, Nebraska, Virginia, New Mexico, Minnesota, Tennessee, Colorado, Utah, Delaware, Maine, Washington, Massachusetts, Kansas, North Dakota, Connecticut, Iowa, Alaska, Indiana, and Missouri.
- Every state had unemployment claims last week that were lower than in the same week pre-pandemic (2019) except for Vermont, Maine, Texas, New Jersey, North Carolina, Idaho, Tennessee, New Mexico, Iowa, California, Rhode Island, Oregon, Virginia, Minnesota, Connecticut, Colorado, Indiana, Utah, Ohio, Missouri, Hawaii, and the District of Columbia.
- Surprisingly, 35 states — including Hawaii, Missouri, and Massachusetts — had unemployment claims last week that were worse than the same week last year.
