Wisconsin remains one of the leading suppliers of vegetables in the country, according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It ranks second overall in the production of vegetables for processing. California is first.

Last year, the state supplied 45% of the country’s snap beans crop (300,000 tons processed) and was the third-largest producer of sweet corn (584,000 tons). Production of green peas increased 14% and cucumbers for pickle production jumped 27%. But Washington State overcame Wisconsin for the top spot in carrot production for processing.
