The deadline to apply for Willy Street Co-op’s annual Community Reinvestment Fund grants is approaching.
Applicants have until Jan. 15 to apply for the grants which are used for promoting food access, creating cooperative businesses, promoting sustainable agriculture and health or advocating for social change.
The program has contributed $673,500 to 436 local organizations and projects since it began in 1992.
Last year, Willy Street Co-op received 39 funding requests and provided funding for 20 projects, totaling $85,000 across the Community Reinvestment Fund and Rooted in Our Community, another funding initiative started in 2025. The funding supported initiatives like the Midwest Linen Revival’s Field to Frock Festival and milk and eggs for Kennedy Heights Community Center’s food pantry.
Grant recipients will be announced in the spring of 2026.
